A local brewery, Olde Hickory, has teamed up with their local Hombrewing club to turn out a bitter hoppy brew that just spins my head. Death by Hops was conceived by a local retailer in Asheveille, NC. It's got bite and of course hop, and it's clean and fresh on the finish. I can taste the hops, the floral, all up in my palate. The floral just permeates and makes you salivate. Care to share your own hoppy nectar?

Date: 2010-09-12 12:48 am (UTC)I know it is a fairly wide-run bottled brew, but I'm always a sucker for a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. Poured into a cold glass, it can be heaven on a hot southern day.
When I'm up in the home of my heart, Portland, Oregon, I'm also a big fan of the Imperial IPA.
Stone Brewery's Arrogant Bastard is a little different, but pretty good in its own right (or I think so), and is another find-it-in-Whole-Foods type bottled micro.
Of course, I am a total beer amateur, and basically will try anything set down in front of me, so I am always looking for suggestions, as well!
